This week we will start a new project and that is interviewing some of the most reputable aromatherapists, authors, and educators in our community. Once a month we will release an interview on our blog with one of the authors and/or editors of the Aromatherapy journals we quote at Dropsmith. We would like you to get to know their story and what inspired them to share this valuable information. This way you can also see the diversity of fields and viewpoints we included in the platform and choose what works best for you.
At this ‘fast-food’ day and age, with the internet overwhelming us with information, a lot of times we do not know where the information comes from. Here at Dropsmith, we feel it is of crucial importance we take the time to understand where the information comes from, who shared it, and with what intention as well as giving the recognition and respect these authors deserve for their hard work.
I hope you will enjoy the series of our interviews. We will open with the incredible and inspiring Rhiannon Lewis. Enjoy.
Hello Melani,
Thank you for sharing this very interesting interview…I am an essential oil specialist having trained with Aromahead Institute and still have to do my final research paper before I can be called a full aromatherapist…not sure when that will happen but no doubt one day I will get down to doing it!
I just wanted to add that I find your approach extremely interesting and I dive into your sight with bated breath wondering what interesting information I will tap into…one thing I would add, and this comes from my experience, is that very few people mention what to me is of extreme importance in aromatherapy, and that is the resonance and special energy/intuition between practitioner and patient/client. This is something one simply cannot qualify or quantify in anyway, and in my experience, if that very special energy/resonance isn’t there, I personally find it very difficult to help someone…there’s a kind of wal/block which the client may not even be aware of, but it’s there!
I will stop rambling on but it’s something that in today’s fast moving and very technologically driven world is often totally overlooked…to me aromatherapy is very much an art of being able to capture and channel our intuition!
Once again thank you so much for your interesting site and this fascinating interview
